About this game

Maruta Escape is a stealth-puzzle game with time-bending action where every second counts—sometimes twice!

You are being held captive in a dystopian human experimentation facility. Your fate as a test subject is sealed unless you escape the drones and robot patrols that lurk around every corner and hunt you from the shadows.

To succeed, you must choose your path carefully, hack your way through security checkpoints and avoid enemy traps as you progress from one challenging level to the next.

When you are caught (and you will be caught!) time slows down. Then, if your time-bending meter is charged, you can activate it to rewind your gameplay and take a new approach, re-tracing your steps and re-thinking your strategy to avoid the clutches of the enemy. But be fast and decisive! You must make your move before your meter runs out and real time catches up with you!

As you race against and through time, evading enemies and delving deeper, you will unravel the mystery of who is responsible for your abduction and learn the evil plans behind the human experiments.

Each level boasts challenges designed specifically to fit its environment. From the sinister surgery room to the foreboding library to the mysterious Zone 19, no two levels are the same. And the game’s dynamic AI lets enemies react differently every time you play a level, leading to hours of challenging gameplay as you try different ways to escape and set new time records for your greatest escape.

This game is quite a hidden gem. It is obvious that a lot of time, effort, and passion went into this game. That being said, there are some extremely glaring issues with the game in it's current state, especially when it comes to the game's poorly thought-out visual style. Most visual indicators (including the detection radius of enemies, which is vital info in a stealth-based game) are white, but they perfectly blend in with the white floor. The heavy visual bloom makes seeing them even harder.

Wanna like more but some issues. 1st, Time mechanic's cool but moot (& I never use that word) for completists since whole point is to escape detection but still counts towards undetection. 2nd, two control options, both bad for fast escaping. Tap to move isn't my thing but also doesn't always register or go to tap spot, so don't move or runs into bots. Joystick is unresponsive at worst times so you get caught. 3rd, hack is easy but pointless n cumbersome. Would like better if it got those fixes.

The game seems like it would be good if I could actually see what I was doing, the colors all blend together and its impossible to see where the enemies vision and hack range is and I end up clicking and walking right into the edge of their vision because it routes my movement weirdly. I do like how the game is supposed to play though
