From your morning coffee to waiting in line at the grocery store, Parsnip helps you level up your cooking skills.
Inside, you’ll find more than 50 levels that challenge your cooking ability across 6 categories: shopping, ingredients, equipment, prepping, making, and techniques. This app teaches you cooking principles that you can apply to any dish. The quizzes are short and fun. The recipies are generally a bit complex (but there are still a few simpler recipes available). There aren't a lot of recipies but that isn't a problem because you can apply the skills you learn to any recipe (in theory, I haven't actually made anything yet). I wish It would give you a bit more of a push to make your first recipe once you've completed all of the quizzes for it

I like the app, it's simple, but they should add a small section with all the info per topic, then a quiz, or teach you something beforehand is boring if you keep guessing over and over. At least for me, this is boring and frustrating, no info beforehand, nothing. I thought it would be like Duolingo because I saw people describing it that way, that it will least give you some info to learn from during the quizzes not just throwing you questions and if you don't know you gotta keep guessing.

Very first question. How to make your water boil faster. Salt. Which said I was wrong, technically true but explanation was false. Adding salt to water increases the boiling point and decreases the specific heat capacity. The specific heat capacity is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of a substance by one degree Celsius. The app is correct in the fact that there are better ways, but adding salt is not wrong. Induction rocks.
