Pepco Smart Home is a pilot program designed to help residential customers in Maryland save energy, increase comfort and reduce energy costs. Participants in this program receive a Pepco Smart Home kit packed with easy-to-install smart devices like plugs, occupancy sensors, and large load controllers. Downloading the Pepco Smart Home app is the first step in getting your smart home up and running.
The Pepco Smart Home app guides you through the process of setting up your new smart home technology and helps you seamlessly manage your new smart devices from a single app. Through the app, you can:
· Monitor and control lighting, home appliances, smart thermostats and other devices remotely. Anytime, anywhere.
· Save energy by setting up automated smart home rules you customize to meet your specific energy needs.
· Reduce demand during conservation periods by going beyond thermostat adjustments and lowering other appliances’ energy use.
· And more!
Enrollment in this pilot is determined by a screening process and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit pepco.com/smarthome for more information on eligibility and how to enroll.

Great product. But it lost some functions several months ago. When motion detector detects nothing for 10 minutes, the switch will turn off as I set it up. This function used to work well, but not any more. Btw, where to buy extra motion sensors and temperature sensor?

Smart Plugs dropped offline frequently. Now Smart Plugs won't connect at all. Smart switches cannot be controlled by phone. When a door opens, I get an alert hours later; useless to be alerted hours later.

Don't fall for PEPCO pilot programs. I received a PEPCO Smart Home Kit in Aug. I tried setting it up and it would not let me control the sensors. It won't let me delete the account and start over. I called three times and they said they would get a tech to call me. On the third call I talked with someone who told me the program was over before my kit arrived. She had no idea why they had continued sending kits out when there was no longer any support for the program. STAY AWAY FROM PEPCO!
