About this game

One of the most anticipated independent puzzle games of 2017! Nominated for the IndiePlay Awards of "Best Art".

"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far." -- H.P. Lovecraft

Appearing deceptively peaceful to the casual passerby, a mysterious island exists in the far reaches of the Atlantic Ocean. The inhabitants know not how they got there or why they stay; all they’re sure of is that the place in which they are trapped is called Isoland.

You are a researcher who has received a letter from a friend imploring you to help with an investigation on Isoland. You travel to the mysterious island, seeking to unravel its mysteries -- but after you arrive, you realize all too late that you, too, are now trapped. Beware of being lulled into complacency by the beauty of the island: Use your wits to avoid being tricked, and unravel the logic behind complex puzzles. Only then will the secrets of Isoland be revealed.

I played the whole game with secrets in about 3 hours, so not a bad game, but a very one and done experience. While I enjoyed the challenge of some of the puzzles, I felt as if the hint system was extremely lacking, thus why I am deducting one star. The user has already paid for the game, but the devs want us to pay again or watch ads for hints! I ended up watching a (free) playthrough on youtube instead.

Enjoyed the puzzles. Success without looking at hints requires awareness of the environment. Solution to puzzles are literally written on the walls. While it would help to highlight which items in the environment can be picked up, assume to click on anything new at least once. In agreement with a critical reviewer that the "plant" item was weak.

The relation of the puzzles in the game are not always clear. You must play through twice to get the real ending, repeating puzzles you already did, and even then there are some puzzles that can only be solved by nonsensical clicking through about / credits. Some areas you need to interact with have no indication there is anything noticable.
