The new update to the camera made video recording useless. Previous version of the camera had a smooth and less obnoxious autofocus. Now since the new update, I can't record a 30 second clip without it annoyingly jumping in and out of focus every second making recording things in motion useless. I guess it's cattered towards still shots or vlogging. At least give us the option to focus lock while video recoding. Previous version didn't have it either, but it had a work around on pro video recording with manual focus. All in all, learn how to make a basic camera app with focus lock and one that actually works and doesn't prompt me to constant failure to connect to cameras messages. 0/10

The September camera update has completely ruined the overall quality of the Nokia 6.1. Today while using the camera for the first time after it updated, the camera app crashed. The screen on my device went black and the phone was completely unresponsive for almost 2 minutes. I couldn't restart it and lost complete control and use of the device. This is completely unacceptable. I like the phone, but I went from a working camera this morning, to a completely crashed device tonight. An app can stop working and even close, but no single component should be able to take the phone completely down. Especially the camera. If it happens again, I'll have to strongly consider even keeping this phone as a back up device.

While it's feature rich, the results are often bad to horrible. bokeh is good, but videos are jerky, fuzzy due to a very intrusive stabilization. The OPTION TO TURN OFF STABILIZATION" would be really useful, as current movies are junk. the hardware quality is excellent (a good third party camera software will be much better). too bad the software is such a drag for the excellent hardware...

What's new

1. With the ‘You Decide’ feature in Dual-Sight, allows you to line one side of the picture/video, double tap to freeze it, then re-position your camera to get the best angle. Double-tap the second half, and your image is saved to your device.

2. Use the ‘Infinitely Adjust’ feature in Dual-Sight mode to adjust the proportion when taking photos or videos, letting you decide whether to show more from your front or rear camera.”
