What is backgammon game?

Backgammon is a 2 player board game in which players have 15 pieces with different colors each and 2 dices. The goal of the game is to move the pieces back to home and be the first to take them off.

The History of Backgammon

Backgammon is one of the oldest games in the world. It is known to be around 5,000 years old and may have originated in Mesopotamia.
It is known that The Romans were the first to make it popular with the version called "Duodecum Scripta et Tabulae" or "Tables".

The invention of Doubling in Backgammon dates back to 1925. Despite extensive researches it is not known who exactly invented the doubling cube. However it is perfectly known that Backgammon became more popular after the 1920's.

How to play Backgammon? How backgammon is played?

It is played by 2 players in each of which 15 checkers of the same color.
Backgammon is played by using 2 dices and moving accordingly. The objective of the game is to move all of one’s own checkers to home and to collect all the chips.

How to set up backgammon board?

Place five checkers to the left corner on the opposite side of yours, and two to the right corner. Place 3 checkers to the fifth left in front of you and five checkers to the left corner of your home. The opponent does the same on his side.

Ratings and reviews

Dropping the FIBS-style ratings was a bummer. That's what I liked about it. It also seems like opponents, for the most part, are bots that play poorly. I'm fairly certain the dice rolls are random, but either I or my opponent often seem to get that needed low-percentage roll at just the right time. Edited to say that I don't think I've played another person since the update. It's all bots now.

I really like the interface and playing actual people. However, the is nothing random about the dice. I kept slightly better than 50% win ratio for over 2 months, then I made an in app purchase. Within 2 days my win % went to 81%. Prior to the purchase I lost games to players who had unbelievably good luck. One player beat me after rolling double 4's 7 times. Another player beat me after rolling doubles 13 times in one game. Statistically not possible until you give $. Ruined a good app.

game will randomly start "reconnecting" during a match and cause you to time out and lose, so your stats take a hit. unbelievably high percentage of the time the dice roll in your opponent's favor (i.e. every time you have a single pip, they get the exact dice combo needed to knock you out). purchased a halloween pack and suddenly my win rate goes up and i roll better dice???
