About this app

Recording road videos since 2009, DailyRoads Voyager works as a car blackbox, dash cam or auto DVR, continuously capturing videos and photos during your journeys. The app automatically records everything, but only important events are retained for future reference or as evidence. You get to choose what to keep, simply by touching the screen, even while you drive.

The video evidence can be invaluable in case of accidents, insurance fraud, police abuse, protection from crash-for-cash scams and differences of opinion with other drivers.

Key features:
- Continuous video recording, with user-defined length and video quality; sound can be included
- User-defined storage space on the SD card with cyclic recording; i.e. the card never fills up
- One-touch video protection allows you to keep video files for interesting road events during the whole journey
- Auto-protect video upon sudden shock (e.g. accident); configurable g-force sensitivity
- Automatically capture photos at user-defined intervals and resolutions; great for time-lapse photography
- Background video/photo capture, with optional buttons over other applications
- Auto start and shutdown based on car dock detection, Bluetooth and other options
- Videos/photos are timestamped & geotagged
- Automatically determine street address of protected videos/photos
- Display videos/photos location on a map
- Display speed, elevation, timestamp and GPS coordinates on videos/photos
- Option to change speed units (km/h, mph) and date format
- Overheating protection
- GPS can be disabled to reduce power consumption
- Brightness adjustment option allows less distraction when driving at night
- Built-in file manager, video/photo browser
- Uploads to DailyRoads.com
- Add title/description/bookmark to files
- App2SD

Pro version:
- no ads
- camera selection after installation
- uploads to Dropbox and custom servers
- option to automatically start the app after device boot and Bluetooth connection
- 1000 video overlay credits on the server

Enjoy, and have a safe journey!

I have been trying different dash cam apps and DailyRoads Voyager seems to be the best for me! It slices up your drive video into several mini videos of the time segments that you choose in the settings. It will keep storing those videos until you reach the storage limit size that you setup in the settings. Once you reached the storage limit it starts tossing out the oldest, unprotected videos and keeps on recording. That's a huge benefit for me so I don't have to keep up with file maintenance.

I've been using this app for a few years. It's had a few glitches-blurry video, not picking satellites etc. Today I was driving down the road and a car pulled out in front of me and BAM! The other driver refused to give me his information, the police showed and settled everything. I confidently told him I had video. I get home to review the video and wouldn't you know the video cuts to the next video with NO SMOOTH TRANSITION! Literally dropped about 15 seconds, TOTALLY MISSING THE ACCIDENT.

Sorry about your accident and that the app failed you at this important time. Normally there is about 1 second lost between videos, depending on the capabilities of the device. The loss of 15 seconds may be caused by a problem happening only on Android 12 devices. https://dailyroads.app/voyager/protected-videos-on-android-12

I recently received a Note 10+. I like that I can record in 4K AND using the wide angle camera. It would be best to be able to switch cameras whenever. Better yet, the app should allow recording at the full frame rate allowable by the camera, e.g. 60FPS or 240FPS. When events occur, they often happen at high speeds. When slowing a 30FPS video, it can get blurred and jittery. Don't take these suggestions as shortcomings. The app is well worth the 4.99USD!!!

Thanks, we plan to implement camera switching during normal operation, too. In the app's video CQ options you can specify any frame rate, but the camera firmware decides if it can honor that value. Often a compromise is needed between conflicting video options, and most of the time only the stock camera app has access to hidden parameters.

What's new

- Fixed background video recording on Android 14
- Background GPS improvements on Android 13 and 14
- Added audio track icon into the Files section
- Fixed the Start App functionality on Android 13 and 14
- Multiple Bluetooth devices can now trigger automatic start/stop
- Removed the Google Drive option (due to Google's restrictions)
