About this app

CereProc has developed the world's most advanced text to speech technology. Our voices not only sound real, they have character, making them suitable for any application that requires speech output.

This voice can synthesize:
* Navigation directions from Scout while driving
* Accessibility information with Talkback
* Twitter, Facebook and newsfeeds with iHearNetwork
* Your favourite eBook from eBook reader apps
* Your SMS with apps like Handcent SMS or Drive Carefully
* and many other TTS-enabled apps

Please note that for some applications such as Scout, we recommend installing on a device with at least a 1GHz processor.

You can try the William voice for yourself, in the interactive demo on CereProc's homepage:

Has not worked right since early 3.0 version. His voice drags at the end of most sentences. Changing phones didn't help. With each update I held out hope they would get it back to greatness. Early contact with the developer was encouraging, but didn't help. Now it appears they've just abandoned the project. No updates in 2 years. Shame, used to be the best on the market.

For occasional use it's fine, however what I needed it for it was too unrealistic. As well as this, one massive downside is that every other sentence it would crack up creating a very unpleasant sound and can be very annoying.

Pretty good. Sounds reasonably pleasant to listen to. close to sounding human. Still a bit robotic and sometimes odd pronunciation. But so far I managed to actively listen to this voice reading a part of a book to me for a few hours without going completely mental or wondering if the Borg are trying to assimilate me XD
