Horrible app idea. Miss the days where the unit came with the remote, even if an app was optional. Why do I have to have a GPS and Bluetooth device on at all times in order to use a device that needs neither to function? Constantly disconnects due to it.. Your "Smart Devices of the Future" suck *ss. The layout of the app is fine, would work great if it has it's own remote with the same settings instead of a cruddy app.

App won't "work" if you deny location permission. This is nothing but data mining, since obviously the light will function just fine regardless of location. Also, I'm not planning to use the light to sync to music for special effects, so why should I have to enable microphone? These permissions should be optional (e.g. opt in). Boo hiss for the rather blatant invasion of privacy.

I bought 2 units to test out. I don't generally like using hardware controlled exclusively through apps. However, this model is a lot better than I expected it to be. My only issue with the app is when I initially paired the units there were options for strobe, chase, and static functions. Once I selected static I was unable to access the other two functions. Otherwise, it's a pretty good product. If the next update allows the other functions I'll probably buy 10 more for my home studio.
