I purchased this off Amazon. Works absolutely flawlessly. Extremely easy to set up. Read the directions. It seems like the reviews I read where people are critical, they did not read/follow the directions. It's not that the directions are complicated, but they are specific. Highly recommend. This avoids having to turn around and go back and check when you question yourself as to whether the door was closed or not when you left. LOVE!

This app is great! Developer actually implemented a suggested request as well, allowing you to change sound from the default so you can tell the notification is your garage door without needing to look at the phone. Too bad people have dinged such a great app due to their own ineptitude. Don't be scared away by any of the reviews. The buddy and monitor work great together.

would be nice to be able to select a unique alert sound so you can differentiate from other alerts. also would be nice to set time between alerts or a "snooze" time for when you need the door open for a period. otherwise it works. 10/19 update. I now give this app a 2 star. In the first months I used it I would get very quick alerts that the door was opened or closed, usually in under a minute. Now it takes at least 5 minutes but often up to 15 min. I'm usually a long way down the road by then.
