Gubbins is a friendly puzzle game where players place tiles to construct words, with the help and hindrance of wildcard modifiers called Gubbins.

Minimalist typography alongside kooky cartoons serve as a canvas for moreish wordplay. Dig through the draw pile and make words on the board with hilarious friends wreaking havoc.

This is an amazing word game that takes a simple concept and turns it into a much more puzzling and creative experience. The Gubbins add a layer of strategy unlike anything I've ever seen, and it helps hold retention and replayability very well. All Gubbins make the game as fun and dynamic as it could be-- both good and bad ones. The postcard making is a subtle enjoyment, and is a nice finishing touch for when I can only play once a day.

The recent update is a total mess. I really liked this game despite minimal gameplay guidance so I got the paid version. But, as others have said, scoring is confusing + the dictionary is really inconsistent. Then the updates 🙄 A postcard (unclear what the point is) that you have to opt out of each time you finish a puzzle + a premium ($5) set of gubbins, half of which don't work and just mess up the puzzle board.

As a "1 play a day" this game is great, not addictive. HOWEVER I just played a game using a "duplicate row" power up, and it duplicated the same word "wrenching" in row 1 and row 2. but when I was scoring it glitched and did accept the row 2 version of the word even though it was spelled the exact same way. lost out on 700 points and would have gone over 10k points! I've never had a glitch like that before (hence 4 stars)
