About this app

Medical ID allows creating medical profiles that are accessible from your lock screen. In case of emergency, profiles enable quick access to vital information such as your allergies, blood type, medical contacts, etc. that are essential to attending first responders, medics, or medical staff having to take action. You can also share your location with emergency contacts even when the app is closed (for up to 24 hours or until you stop sharing).

The display and access of your medical information from your lock screen are made possible via an accessibility service to enable and that is part of the core features of the app. Once enabled, the accessibility service displays a widget over your lock screen. This widget helps people who have disabilities, or first responders in case of emergency, to take action and access medical data.

This is the free version of the app. Upgrading to the premium version gives you access to more features and help us to maintain the app and add features. Please note the upgrade is required only once in your lifetime!a

Could have been a great app but I uninstalled. All medical information should be shown RIGHT when you open the app. But instead it just shows your name, age, and if you're an organ donor. 2 of the 3 people I showed it to assumed that was all the info I had provided, not realizing you have to tap on my name to see the actual medical details. Dangerous. Especially for an emergency situation.

Very useful and easy to set up. Allows a thorough account of your health. Edit 6/29/2023: lately the app widget keeps disappearing. I go back into the app to select it, it prompts me to go to the accessibility settings in my phone, but there I see the message "Not working, tap for info" which leads to "This service is malfunctioning."

I've had this app on a couple of phones and it used to work great. However, on my new Samsung Galaxy A52s that I got mid-April, the widget keeps disappearing from the lock screen. Each time it goes away, I reset it but it's very frustrating. It never did this before. On my last phone, it was always there. Not helpful if it's not available for emergency personnel.
